CONWAY, Ark. – McMurry University Men's and Women's Swimming traveled to Hendrix College over the weekend for the Hendrix College Relays and Classic Friday and Saturday. The McM men finished third in the Relays while placing sixth in the Classic. On the women's side, McMurry placed fourth and seventh, respectively.

The War Hawks scored 266 points in the men's relays, and scored 158 in the women's relays. Saturday, the War Hawks tallied 181 points in the men's events and 42 for the women.

Senior Jerick Pena paced the War Hawks' men, placing fourth in both the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard backstroke. He completed the medley in a time of 2:05.64, and touched the wall in the backstroke in 2:05.05.

Freshman Ethan Sykes performed well in just his second meet for the War Hawks, bringing home top-10 finishes in the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard butterfly. Sykes finished just seconds behind Pena in the medley in 2:07.80. In the fly, he finished in 2:12.22.

Picking up two more top-10 finishes for the War Hawks was freshman Alec Satre, placing seventh in the 100-yard freestyle in :51.13 and 10^th in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:31.40. Junior Dany Baki had top-10s in the 1000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle.

Senior Monica Flores led the McM women with a 10^th place finish in the 200-yard individual medley and 11^th place in the 200-yard breaststroke. She swam the medley in 2:32.52 and the breaststroke in 2:52.79. Freshman Mackenzie Reiner was one spot behind Flores in the breaststroke, just six one hundredths of a second back at 2:52.85.

Both teams are back in action November 9^th, when they host the University of Texas of the Permian Basin at noon in the Phillips Family Center.
