Tigers Fall to Southwestern in Season Opener

Results

Despite a pair of individual wins by sophomore Eric Dallesasse and freshman Casey Block, the Colorado College men's swimming and diving team dropped a 130-89 decision to Southwestern University Friday night in Georgetown, Texas.

Dallesasse won the 200 IM and 200 butterfly, while Block captured both the 1- and 3-meter diving events. Freshman Walker Martin came from behind to win the 100 freestyle by .18 of a second for his first collegiate victory.

"Walker really came through in the end and by far had the most exciting finish of the day," head coach Anne Goodman James said.

Sophomore Michael Wright finished second in the 200 and 500 freestyle races, while junior Johannes Mansson and sophomore Michael Heinonen placed second in the 200 backstroke and 1000 freestyle, respectively.
