Senior guard
Jordan Meltzer scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Colorado College women's basketball team to a 62-53 victory over previously unbeaten Denison University on Saturday night at Reid Arena.
Meltzer went 9-for-10 from the charity stripe and 5-for-9 from the floor.
Junior winger
McKenzee Gertz added 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists.
Rosie Braley scored six of her eight points during the final 2:45 to help the Tigers pull away with the victory. The first-year forward sank a pair of free throws to put CC ahead to stay, then converted a three-point play after grabbing an offensive rebound with 1:07 remaining.
Colorado College built a 50-40 lead when
Mia Thurber scored on a layup 1:14 into the fourth quarter, but Lauren Longbrake scored back-to-back buckets during a 10-0 run and the Big Red pulled even on a three-point basket by Kat Williams that banked in off the glass.
Denison led by five early in the second quarter, but Meltzer scored seven points during an 18-8 surge that put the Tigers ahead 24-19 with 2:17 to play before halftime.
First-year forward
Talia Cloud grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to help CC build a 51-39 advantage on the boards.
The Big Red went 6-for-21 from behind the arc, while Colorado College made two of 18 long-range shots.

Izzy Hensley scored six points and pulled down six boards.

Alison Schafer produced 11 points, five assists and four rebounds.

Colorado College plays host to the 2019 Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29-30, at Reid Arena. The Tigers face Pacific University at 5:30 p.m. Friday, then close out the tournament against Macalester College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
