THE BASIC
Irving, Texas – The Eagles cruised to a 65-59 win over University of Dallas Saturday to pick up their third win of the young season. The Eagles led 35-27 at halftime behind a solid second quarter that saw the Eagles hit 52 percent from the field. The Eagles later built a 45-30 lead on a Stevie Perkins jumper at the 6:14 mark of the third quarter. The Crusaders chiseled away at the lead and eventually got within 54-52 in the fourth quarter. But the Eagles found ways to keep the Crusaders from gaining the lead. Brittany Temple hit a clutch jumper with 35 seconds remaining in the game to make it 64-59. Temple finished with a team-high 19 points. Perkins had a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.
