Men's Hoops Falls to Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College men's basketball team dropped an 81-63 road decision at Texas Lutheran on Friday night, bringing their overall record to 8-16 on the year and 4-11 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. With the loss, the 'Roos are eliminated from SCAC Tournament contention.

The conference-leading Bulldogs out-scored Austin College by nine points in each half, shooting nearly 48% from the field and 41% from long distance to top the 'Roos. Austin College was held to 37% shooting overall, making 7-of-16 three pointers. Texas Lutheran was dominant on the glass, using a 47-33 advantage, and also out-scored Austin College 16-to-6 from the free throw line.

Michael Holland led Austin College with 13 points, shooting 6-of-15 from the field and grabbing six rebounds, and Luke Brumbaugh and Jaylyn Cleamons each scored eight points in the loss. Devin Roland chipped in seven points for the 'Roos.

Austin College closes out its season on Saturday night when the 'Roos take on Southwestern University, with tip-time set for 6:00 p.m. in Georgetown.
