KERRVILLE, Tex. – Cal Lutheran concluded their successful trip to Texas with a clean 9-0 sweep over Schreiner (Tex.).
The Kingsmen (6-3, 0-1 SCIAC) finished their trip 3-1, taking matches against Texas Lutheran, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Schreiner.
Beginning with the doubles competition, Darvel Lossangoye and Charlie Spina once again proved to be an extremely dynamic duo, winning their match 8-1 without much trouble.
Jake Haffner and Sebastian Ariza followed win an 8-2 victory before Ryan Murphy and Erik Lundeberg clinched the doubles sweep, taking their match 8-6 in a tight contest.
On the singles side, Haffner took charge in the number-spot to win his match 6-2, 6-4.
Lossangoye won his match 6-1, 6-3 to continue his domination while Spina cruised to a victory by the same result.
Ariza followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win and Ben Vincze won his match after taking a tiebreak, 6-4, 7-5.
Wrapping up the Texas trip was Lundeberg with his 7-5, 6-0 victory.
The Kingsmen return to SCIAC competition in the friendly confines of the Poulson Tennis Courts on Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. where they will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
