Georgetown, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team dropped a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches on Saturday in a conference divisional hosted by Southwestern University, being swept by the University of St. Thomas Celts and the host Pirates at the Robertson Center.

The Ladies (7-12, 0-6 SCAC) will wrap up the weekend with their final match versus Texas Lutheran (14-4, 4-1 SCAC) set for Sunday at 10 a.m. Live stats and live video for the match are available at the links below:

Match one recap: St. Thomas 3 Centenary 0

The Celts (12-4, 2-3 SCAC) edged the Ladies in a competitive set one, 26-24, won the second set by a 25-15 margin, and clinched the sweep with another 26-24 win in set three.

Centenary finished with 49 digs, 36 kills, 32 assists, and one service ace. St. Thomas tallied 49 kills, 44 digs, 42 assists, and nine aces. Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) had 20 digs and two assists, senior S/RS Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) recorded 17 assists, five digs, and a kill, and sophomore MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) had a solid match with 10 kills and two digs good for 10.5 points.

Freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) had 13 assists, five digs and an ace and senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) had another great match with nine kills, six digs, and nine points. Freshman OH Jaeda Moreno (Weslaco, Texas) added four digs and three kills and sophomore RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) finished with four kills and two digs and sophomore OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) had four digs.

Freshman MB Susi Curtis (Haslet, Texas) had two kills and a dig, sophomore RS Aubrey Salazar (San Antonio, Texas) had four kills and freshman MB/OH Jordan Wheeler (Baton Rouge, La.) tallied three kills.

The Pirates took the first set 25-14, won set two by a score of 25-8, and then finished off the sweep with a 25-21 win in the third set. The Ladies finished with 38 digs, 20 assists, 20 kills, and one ace. Southwestern tallied 46 digs, 43 kills, 39 assists, and seven aces.

Proctor again led the way with 13 digs and added a pair of assists, Smith had a team-high 12 assists and one dig, and Demerjian had five assists, five digs, and an ace. Lowe had four kills and two digs to finish with 5.5 points, and St. Martin recorded six digs and three kills for 3.5 points. Moreno had an impressive performance with four kills, three digs, and two block assists for five total points.
