
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Softball (0-10) hosted the Lewis and Clark Pioneers (1-1) from Portland, Oregon, for a doubleheader Thursday evening with on-and-off rain and weather in the low 40's. The Pirates decisively took control in the bottom of the third inning and maintained it throughout game one, winning 7-4. The Pioneers rallied late in the 7th inning of game two, but the Pirates were able to hold on to the 3-2 lead and earn their second win of the '24 Season.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Brooke Yanta had a 3RBI homer in the 3rd inning of game one to lift the Pirates to 4-0.
- Meghan McCarthy, Daniella Clark, and Riley Glenn-Millhouse earned a double play in game one.
- Erica Otto earned two stolen bases for the night.
NOTES
- Both the Pirates and the Pioneers had 11 hits combined for both games.
- Jaden Wheeler, Madison Vela, Mattigan Aga, & Sophia Ytuarte shared the work on the mound tonight
