Colorado College men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games and its shutout streak to 360 minutes with a 1-0 victory over Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday night at the Aurora Sports Park.
For the fourth game in a row, the game-winning goal was the first collegiate goal for the Tiger who scored.
This time, it was
Alexander Makic who found the net a little more than two minutes after entering the game. The senior defender sent a header off of
Will Mallory's corner kick past JWU goalkeeper Alexis Araiza into the upper right corner in the 27th minute.
Mallory, who struck for the deciding score in Sunday's 1-0 win at the University of Dallas, has factored in back-to-back game winners.
Keller Mochel, the reigning Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, lowered his season goal-against average to 0.58 while his saves percentage remained steady at .842.
The junior goalkeeper now has four clean sheets this season and seven for his career.
CC finished with a 13-4 advantage in total shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
The four shots by the Wildcats were a season low for an opponent against the Tigers.
The last time Colorado College did not allow a shot on goal was a 4-0 victory over Schreiner University on Oct. 9, 2016, at Stewart Field.
The Tigers play their first home conference games this week against Texas Lutheran University at 7 p.m. Friday on Washburn Field and Southwestern University at 11 a.m. Sunday on Stewart Field.
