GEORGETOWN, Texas - A dominant first match gave way to a nail-biter, but the Pirates emerged with the win over a scrappy Texas Lutheran squad, 3-1, to improve to 19-0 on the season and 8-0 in the SCAC.
Sensational defense was the key to a 25-8 win in the first set and after trading sets two and three Brandi Campos came off the bench to seal the win with a pair of crucial aces late in the fourth panel.
Southwestern remains at home to host conference-rival Trinity at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and then follows with Schreiner at 5 p.m.
