Southwestern took advantage of a pair of leadoff walks to start the 2nd inning. Chase Allen later scored on a double down the left field line by Ketchum Marsh to make it a 5-1 game.
The Pirates continued to close the gap in the 4th. Will Burks singled to the pitcher and advanced all the way to third on a throwing error. He scored on a wild pitch to cut it to 5-2.
