Sul Ross State takes 80-65 non-conference road win at Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas -- Sul Ross State made 57.1 percent of its total field goal attempts Saturday night in an 80-65 road victory over the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs.
 
In TLU's Memorial Gymnasium (Jim Shuler Court), the Lobos never trailed in the game and led by as many as 18 late in the second half.
 
The Lobos held a 45-37 lead at the half after shooting 59.4 percent in the first 20 minutes.
 
Sul Ross improved to 3-2 overall. TLU dropped to 3-4 overall with the non-conference loss.
 
Logan Dixon scored 18 for the Lobos, and Tristen Licon chipped in 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
 
TLU freshman Trystin Silas scored a career-high 21 for the Bulldogs. Jorden Kite added 18.
 
The Bulldogs shot 42.9 percent from the field in the first half and 33.3 percent in the second half.
 
TLU was 10-for-30 from the three-point line.

The Bulldogs head to Colorado for its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference openers on Dec. 19 and Dec. 20. The Bulldogs face Colorado College on Dec. 19 and play Johnson & Wales-Denver on Dec. 20.
