ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University swimming lost both the men's and women's events versus perennial power Trinity University at the Phillips Family Center. Both War Hawks' teams lost to the Tigers by identical 93-61 scores.
On the men's side, it was sophomore
Jerick Pena providing his team with its lone event victory in the men's 200 individual medley. Pena would touch in a time of 2:05.92 minutes. Pena was also third in the 100-yard butterfly (56.64).
Andrew Jarrett earned a runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.09) and
Austin Gombas was third in the 100 freestyle. Newcomer
Zakai Love was second in the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.72 seconds.
In the women's events,
Robyn Remschel opened her junior year with a win in the 100-yard backstroke (58.77). Remschel was also third in the 50 freestyle (26.55).
Junior
Zandria Rodriguez won the women's 100-yard breaststroke in a clocking of 1:18.68 minutes.
Katie Gorka was second in the grueling 500 freestyle (6:04.08).
Both 200-yard freestyle relays earned first place points for McM, as well.
