Tigers Down Southwestern For Second Straight Win

The Colorado College men's swimming and diving team won its second straight dual meet over an SCAC opponent with a 178-90 victory over Southwestern University Saturday afternoon in Georgetown, Texas.

Seniors Jack Hussin and Collin Ralston and freshman Andrew Colgan led the way for CC, winning two individual races apiece. Hussin won the 100 and 200 freestyle events, Ralston captured the 100 backstroke and 200 IM, while Colgan touched the wall first in the 100 and 200 breaststroke races for the second consecutive meet.

Hussin joined seniors Caleb Peimann and Step Flanagan and freshman Liam McCarthy on the victorious 200 freestyle relay team.

Junior Edmund Davis won the 500 freestyle while freshmen Nathan McCracken and Sam Allen captured the 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke events, respectively.

In diving, senior Aidan Richter and sophomore Wyatt Wellehan each finished first in one of the two 1-meter events.

"We focused on racing and scoring points for the team today, which led to the victory," head coach Jen Buffin said. "The team learned a lot about how to manage two meets in a weekend and kept focused on their race plans and managing their energy. The divers had another great day as Aidan and Wyatt split wins."

Colorado College returns to action on Friday, Nov. 8, against Colorado Mines at Schlessman Natatorium, beginning at 6 p.m.
