Schwarz Goes Yard in 13 Run Blowout against Huston Tillotson

Schwarz Goes Yard in 13 Run Blowout against Huston Tillotson

Baseball notched their ninth victory of the season running over the Huston Tillotson Rams this Tuesday night. With 15 total hits in the game, the Celt offense exploded for 14 runs.

From the first pitch, the Celts seemingly took control of the game. After a quick Kyle Bearden single, the Celts brought him home and added another off a Mason Seay single. Bearden then picked up an RBI in the second inning to make the score 3-0 heading into the third. After a quiet third inning, the Celt offense added four runs powered by a Cameron McClure single that brought home Dylan Lamb and Jarod Smith. Then, with the game seemingly out of reach, Huston Tillotson was unable to stop the bleeding, as Austin Schwarz went yard for the first homer of his career. This three run shot made the score 13-0, as the Celts eventually secured a 14-1 victory over the Rams.

Luke Sebesta got the start for the Celts tonight. Sebesta went three shutout innings allowing just one walk. Cole Grimes got his first victory of the season in relief, and five other pitchers finished the job, allowing just one run on five hits.

Up next, baseball hits the road for a non-conference matchup with Hardin Simmons. Follow ustcelts.com for all scores and updates.
