'Roos Battle Unbeaten TLU to Scoreless Draw

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team earned a point in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings on Sunday with a 0-0 draw at Texas Lutheran, who entered the match as one of three unbeaten teams in the conference. The 'Roos are now 3-7-2 overall and 1-1-1 in SCAC competition.

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team earned a point in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings on Sunday with a 0-0 draw at Texas Lutheran, who entered the match as one of three unbeaten teams in the conference. The 'Roos are now 3-7-2 overall and 1-1-1 in SCAC competition.

Austin College used a strong defensive effort to keep the Bulldogs off of the scoreboard, with TLU owning a 15-to-3 shot advantage in the match. Neither side was able to muster much of an attack in the opening half, with the Bulldogs firing just five shots, while the 'Roos had two. That defensive effort carried over into the second half, as TLU ramped things up on the attack and had 10 shot attempts, but zero were put on target, while the 'Roos had just one shot attempt after halftime.

Jayson Baldwin earned the clean sheet in goal for Austin College, stopping both shots he faced, while Noel Pena made one save for Texas Lutheran.
