Sophomore attackman Jake Smith struck for five goals and set up five more to lead Colorado College to a 25-2 victory over Millsaps College on Sunday afternoon in Jackson, Miss.

The Tigers improved 10-2 overall and 9-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with their eighth consecutive win. The Majors slipped to 3-11 overall and 2-7 in league play.

Six different players scored for CC during the first quarter, including senior attackman Hunter Sprole who struck for his third game winner of the season 6:50 into the contest.

After a man-up goal by freshman attackman Scott Budd put Millsaps on the scoreboard 3:50 into the second quarter, the Tigers ran off 10 unanswered tallies to build a 16-1 lead after 30 minutes.

Colorado College added nine consecutive goals in the second half before Budd put a second shot past junior midfielder Charles Curtis, who had relieved sophomore Zach Steedman in goal, with 23 seconds to play.

Steedman stopped two of three shots for the Tigers, who allowed a season-low five attempts on target.

Freshman midfielder Sayre Thomas grabbed a game-high nine ground balls while Pierce added seven.
