Ogilvie, MacKenzie power CC Past Austin

Box Score Senior forward Brandon Ogilvie and freshman midfielder Caden MacKenzie recorded a goal and an assist apiece to lead Colorado College to a 2-0 victory over Austin College in the opening round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Friday night.

CC will play host Southwestern University in the second semifinal match on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Ogilvie gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead 7:27 into the game with his 15th tally of the season off a feed from MacKenzie. It proved to be his seventh game winner of the season and the ninth of his career.

The duo clicked again a little less than four minutes later when Ogilvie set up MacKenzie's seventh of the year.

The Colorado College defense turned in a suffocating performance, holding the Kangaroos to just three total shots.

Sophomore Ian Horne, who didn't make his only save until there was 15:50 remaining in the game, recorded his eighth shutout of the season and the team's 10th.

The Tigers extended their season-long winning streak to seven games and improved to 14-5-2.

Andrew Celio made three saves for the 'Roos, who finished the year with a 4-13-3 record.
