Tigers Fall At Redlands In Overtime

Box Score Colorado College demonstrated its ability to come from behind again on Saturday night, but playing overtime games on consecutive nights caught up with the Tigers.

Sophomore forward Chase Boone scored 4:30 into the second overtime as the University of Redlands opened its season with a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.

Junior defender Jack McCormick struck for his second goal of the season in the 76th minute, knotting the score on a header off a corner kick from freshman midfielder Robert Malone.

The Bulldogs grabbed a 1-0 lead 5:41 into the second half when freshman forward Kayvon Parsa scored off touches from Casey Chubbfertal and Ben Thompson.

Despite playing extra minutes for the third time this week, the Tigers found their second wind after halftime and began to establish a territorial advantage.

CC launched 10 of its 14 shots and earned four of five corner kicks in the second frame. At the same time, Redlands managed six shots and had a pair of corners.

Sophomore Theo Hooker made five of his six saves during the first half when the Bulldogs launched 13 of their 21 shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Dylan Ochoa stopped five shots for Redlands.

Colorado College (1-1-1) returns home next week for its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener against the University of Dallas on Friday, Sept. 11. The Tigers also will play host to Wartburg College in a non-conference match on Sunday, Sept. 13.
