Seniors Sent Out With A Series Win

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas bounced back after a narrow series-opening loss to dominate the final two games against the University of the Ozarks, taking the series 2-1. The Crusaders (9-28, 5-22 SCAC) totaled 21 runs over the weekend, showcasing a rejuvenated offense and strong pitching performances to close out the emotional and motivated weekend series.

Dallas came up just short in game one, falling 5-4 in a back-and-forth contest. The Crusaders responded in emphatic fashion, rolling to an 8-2 win in game two and completing the series with a 9-0 shutout victory in game three.

Dallas opened the series with a close contest but couldn't quite push past the Eagles in a 5-4 defeat. The Crusaders managed eight hits, led by Keely Mathis (2-for-4, R, RBI) and Emily Luna (2-for-4, R). Lizette Sosa (1-for-3, 2 RBI) provided a key hit to keep Dallas in the game, while Katie Duffy-Relf (2-for-2, R, RBI, BB) added production at the plate.

Game two saw the Crusaders explode offensively with nine hits and a balanced team effort. Katie Duffy-Relf had a standout game (4-for-4, 2 RBI, R), while Lizette Sosa (2-for-4, 3 RBI) and Ava Aleman (2-for-4, RBI) added crucial run support. Bre Barnes chipped in with an RBI, and SunnyDale Thies drew a key bases-loaded walk.

Dallas finished the series in dominant fashion, shutting out the Eagles behind an explosive offense and strong pitching. Mariah Hinojosa led the way at the plate (3-for-3, 3 RBI, R), while Emily Luna (1-for-1, 2 RBI, 2 BB) and Keely Mathis (1-for-3, 2 RBI) provided additional firepower. Lizette Sosa added an RBI single, and Katie Duffy-Relf contributed off the bench with a pinch-hit RBI.
