UD Women's Lacrosse Drops Opener at Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team dropped its season opener 13-1 at Huntingdon College. The Hawks (1-0) scored 10 goals in the first half to build a commanding lead, led by Kailey Laudicina and Vanessa Maldonado with five goals each.

Emily Pauletti (Dallas, Texas) netted the lone goal for the Crusaders (0-1) at the 12:45 mark in the second half. The junior scored 25 goals last season and is the team's leading returning scorer. Pauletti logged five of the team's 15 shots. Isabella Flynn (Seattle, Wash.) and Gabby Dixon (San Diego, Calif.) added three shots apiece. Lizz Winkler (St. Charles, Ill.) made nine saves in 60 minutes.

10 players for the Crusaders (0-1) made their collegiate debuts.

Morgan Coppini and Morgan Pelfrey each played one half and grabbed two and three saves, respectively, for Huntingdon.

The Hawks totaled 30 shots with 22 on cage. They had 17 ground balls compared to 16 by UD, and eight draw controls to six by the visitors.
