Jarrell Sweet's driving layup with 2.1 seconds remaining in overtime gave Colorado College a 79-77 victory over Rhodes College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game on Friday night at Reid Gymnasium.

He stripped the ball from Kory Kilpatrick while CC was nursing a one-point lead with 43 seconds remaining, and then denied the Lynx an opportunity to take the lead with 26 seconds to play when he took the ball away from Nathan Ollie with the score tied.

Rhodes took a 73-71 lead after Ollie drained a three-pointer 1:06 into the extra frame, but the Tigers answered with five straight points to take a 76-73 advantage with 1:41 to go. Cory Smith tipped in is own rebound with a fraction over eight seconds remaining to set up Sweet's game-winning bucket.

Colorado College led by seven points with 2:31 to play in regulation, but five missed free throws opened the door for the Lynx. Jared Hoskins nailed a three-pointer with 5.1 seconds to play, and Rhodes was given possession on the ensuing in-bounds play when the Tigers were called for a controversial five-second violation.

Nick Rose blocked Jared Hoskins' shot from the top of the key with three seconds to go, but the ball went to Smith who put a floater in as time expired.

Brady Ohlsen led the Tigers with 23 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Sweet added 16 points, four assists and four steals, while Lance Jacobs had 10 points and five assists.
