Schuler Brothers Lead CC Past Centenary

Senior Henry Schuler and sophomore John Schuler got it done at both ends of the pitch Colorado College defeated Centenary College, 4-0, on Friday night at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, La.

Both Schulers scored a goal and helped the Tiger defense record its sixth shutout as CC improved to 7-3-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

John Schuler struck for the only goal Colorado College needed early in the sixth minute when he collected a service from Keenan Amer and rifled a shot into the upper 90 at the far post. It proved to be the first game winner of his career.

CC doubled its lead midway through the first half when sophomore midfielder Miles Montgomery scored off of a feed from Samson Heyer, putting a shot from the box inside the far post.

A little more than three minutes into the second half, Amer knocked in the rebound of a Montgomery shot to make the score 3-0. It marked the second time in his career he scored and set up a goal in the same game.

Montgomery notched his third assist in four games and now leads the Tigers with three.

Henry Schuller capped Colorado College's highest scoring output of the season in the 65th minute when he pounced on the rebound of a shot by sophomore midfielder Skyler Stark-Ragsdale.

Stark-Ragsdale extended his point streak to three games and now leads the team with seven.

At the other end of the pitch, Keller Mochel made just one save while posting his sixth clean sheet of the season. The junior goalkeeper lowered his goals-against average to 0.97 and improved his saves percentage to .762.

Colorado College finished the game with a 17-4 advantage in total shots and a 10-3 edge in corner kicks.

Sami Borchalli made five saves in 76:33 of action before giving way to Patrick Riley for the final 13:27.

Colorado College plays its final non-conference game of the season at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas, on Sunday at noon CT.
