SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The No. 6 seeded University of Dallas men's soccer team fell in the quarterfinal stage of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament to the No. 3 seeded Trinity Tigers 1-0 on Friday. Dallas held the Tigers in check in the first half and eventually went into the halftime break tied at zero. Through most of the second half Trinity had a lot of offensive possession, but could not get past the Dallas keeper. In the 77th minute TU was able to break the scoreless tie after Wesley Mitchell crossed a ball to the right side of the box and Philip Duenez was able to covert the header. Trinity was able to hold on to the slim lead and take the conference tournament victory.

Tomas DePetris (Houston, Texas) and Hunter Haugland (Bixby, Okla.) both took shots for Dallas in the first half, making the Tigers keeper collect two saves. Trinity took five shots in the final five minutes, but the Dallas defense held tough with a couple saves from Sean Carlin (Puyallup, Wash.) and a team save to keep the game scoreless heading into halftime. TU outshot Dallas 9-2 and took six corner kicks in the period. Carlin made three saves in that half for UD.

In the 77th minute, Trinity had another offensive attack as Mitchel crossed the ball to the right side of the box with the Dallas keeper covering the right side of the goal and Duenez found the wide open goal as he scored with the header to give the Tigers the 1-0 lead. Dallas had six shots in the second half, but the two shots on frame were gathered by the TU keeper.
