ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Men's Swimming came up just short Saturday in its season opening dual, falling 105-82 to the University of the Ozarks in the Phillips Family Center.
Freshman Terrin Boehmer impressed, picking up individual wins in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle.
Just two tenths of a second separated the teams in the opening 200-yard medley relay, but the Eagles squeezed out the win.
Sophomore Alec Satre picked up where he left off last year, taking the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle. Sophomore Ethan Sykes claimed a win in the 100-yard backstroke. Sykes also had a second in the 100-yard butterfly.
McMurry got strong performances from freshman Cole Ellis and Brayden Reeves in the 50-yard freestyle, as they placed second and third in a photo finish.
The War Hawks will have a couple weeks off before they host Austin College in a dual October 18.
