Celts Fall In Game One to Trinity University

Celts Fall In Game One to Trinity University

Baseball opened its final series of the regular season against Trinity University. After finishing game one, game two was suspended in the top of the ninth inning due to weather.

Game 1: UST 1 TU 6

From the first pitch, it seemed like it would be an evenly contested game, as the run that scored was due to an error by the St. Thomas defense. From there, Landon Murray pitched four shutout innings before the sixth, when Trinity scored off a base hit to make the score 2-0. From there, St. Thomas cut the deficit in half as Dillon McKee had an RBI double down the right-field line to score Erik Garza. With the score now 2-1, the Celts tried to generate baserunners, but could not. Then in the top of the ninth, Trinity scored four runs to secure a 6-2 victory.

Game 2: In progress top of the 9th.

The Celts and the Tigers will resume game two Sunday at 12 PM at Constellation Field in the top of the ninth. The game was suspended due to weather.

Up next, it's senior day for the St. Thomas Celts! Come out to Constellation Field Sunday at 12 PM as we honor the first-ever baseball senior class!
