ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Swimming picked up a 108-66 win in their season opening dual Saturday morning, topping the University of the Ozarks in the Phillips Family Center.
Of the 13 events, the War Hawks took the top spot in seven of them.
Senior Jessica Gryder won both of her individual events in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley. She was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that took home the top spot. Joining Gryder were Madelaine Smith, Abigail Swaim and Molly Herrera.
Swaim collected a win the 100-yard butterfly, while Herrera won the 500-yard freestyle and Smith the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.
McMurry picked up a win in the final event of the day, as well, in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team consisted of Cassie Borgfield, Haleigh Brown, Kaitlynn Cozma and Cambria Jaramillo.
Swaim and Brown posted second and third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle, while Borgfield joined Gryder in taking the top two spots in the 100-yard freestyle with a second place finish.
The War Hawks get back in the pool October 18, when they host Austin College in a dual beginning at 5:15 p.m.
