Box Score Max Grossenbacher scored twice in a span of 47 seconds to help the Colorado College men's soccer team salvage a 2-2 tie at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday afternoon.
The Sagehens used a penalty kick by JK Gopakumar and a fortunate bounce out of a scrum by Voja Maric to build a two-goal lead 24:12 into the game. Ffrom that point on, however, they found it much more difficult to possess the ball against CC.
Grossenbacher put the Tigers on the board 9:52 into the second half with a penalty kick. The senior midfielder improved to 4-for-5 in his career from the spot.
He completed the third multiple-goal contest of his career after taking a feed from freshman midfielder
Robert Malone and beating Pomona-Pitzer goalkeeper Ben Mitchell with a tight-angle shot from six yards out into the lower right corner.

Theo Hooker finished with a pair of saves for Colorado College, which now is 1-0-1.
Mitchell stopped eight shots for the Sagehens, who were playing their first game of the year.
CC finished with an 18-8 advantage in total shots, which included a 10-4 edge in those on target. The Tigers also earned a 7-3 margin in corner kicks.
Colorado College returns to action on Saturday night at the University of Redlands. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. PT.
