Box Score The Colorado College volleyball team recorded its third perfect Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference campaign in the last six years after sweeping Centenary College 25-14, 25-19, 25-15 on Saturday.
The No. 1-ranked Tigers also finished atop the conference standings for the seventh time since it began competing in the SCAC in 2007, which includes four times sharing the top spot.
"I can't put into words how proud I am of this team," head coach
Rick Swan said. "It was pretty special to sweep Centenary and put a finish on a perfect conference season. What our players accomplished this season has been incredible. It seems like every weekend they got better and better. And most of all, it was such an all-around team effort with so many players bringing positive energy to court."
Isabella Vasquez recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a team-high 11 kills and 11 digs.
Georgia Mullins finished the match with 10 kills, hitting .421 on 19 swings, and had a hand in six of the team's nine blocked shots.
"Georgia was outstanding once again hitting over .400 and having six blocks," Swan said. "She has put up impressive numbers all year. Bella Vasquez was unstoppable on the outside and solid in the back row with her defense and serve receive."
Allie Freeburg also hit .400 with nine kills on 20 attacks with just one error, while
Isabella Lipacis hit .357 with seven kills on 14 attempts.
Peyton Hummel recorded a match-high 20 digs, the 10th time she finished with double-digit digs and her second match with 20 or more.
"We had another outstanding day from Peyton leading us with 20 digs and stellar serve receive, while Belle Aragon Menzel did a fantastic job running the offense and dishing out assist after assist," Swan said. "The list just goes on and everyone stepped up, played a role contributed to a great team win."
The Ladies stayed close to CC during the first set and trailed just 12-11 after a kill by Alyssa Davis and were within striking distance despite trailing 16-13. At that point, however, Mullins ignited a 6-0 run and Centenary recorded just one more kill before the Tigers scored the final three points.
The second set played out the same way, with Colorado College utilizing an 8-2 surge to build a 22-14 lead on a Mullins kill. The Ladies trimmed their deficit to five on blocked shot, but CC closed out the set with two kills from Vasquez.
The Tigers held Centenary to a .086 team hitting percentage, which marked the eighth time this season CC kept an opponent below .100.
Colorado College also extended its set winning streak to 26 consecutive matches, dating back to the five-set victory over Trinity University on March 6.
Colorado College Standouts
Isabelle Aragon-Menzel dished out 29 assists and had seven digs.
Laney Swan finished with seven kills.
Centenary College Standouts
Caroline Richmond led the Ladies with 10 kills.
Tori Ligman had a team-high 13 digs.

Colorado College plays host to the University of Dallas in a quarterfinal match of the SCAC tournament next weekend at Reid Arena. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
