The Colorado College women's cross country team wrapped up its 2018 season with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships Saturday in Walla Walla, Wash.

The Tigers finished the meet with 211 team points. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps captured the team title with 46, followed by Pomona-Pitzer with 101 and Whitman with 167.

Senior
Leah Veldhuisen and freshman
Megan Koch led the Tigers and earned all-region honors by placing 28
th and 34
th, respectively. Veldhuisen completed the 6K course in a season-best time of 23.10.6, just ahead of Koch's personal-best time of 23:15.6.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer automatically qualify for the national meet by finishing first and second, respectively, while the top seven individuals that are not on those two or other teams selected as at-large teams.

Lucy Wagner just missed the all-region team by placing 39
th with a personal-best time of 23:33.6, followed by senior
Meghan Tanel (45
th) and sophomores Gillian Foley (65
th),
Alexia Preston (72
nd) and
Lily O'Dowd (82
nd). Tanel (23:41.9) and Preston (24:21.1) each posted a career-best time, while Foley (24:08.9) recorded a season-best time.
