John Hatch scored a game-high 17 points and tied the school record with seven blocked shots as Colorado College rebounded from its first conference loss with a 76-69 victory at Southwestern University on Saturday night.

James Lonergan added 13 and dished out a career-high eight assists to help the Tigers improve to 12-7 overall and 7-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Pirates got to within six points on Chris Lee's layup with 42 seconds remaining, but Hatch sealed CC's victory with a dunk just seven seconds later.

Southwestern cut its deficit to five on the strength of a 10-1 during the next four minutes, but back-to-back buckets by sophomore forward
Andrew Maddock and Lonergan gave the Tigers a 58-49 cushion with 7:19 remaining.
Maddock scored all 13 of his points in the second half.
Berardino and Houska each went 3-for-5 from behind the arc and finished with 11 points.
CC shot nearly 55 percent (28 of 51) from the floor, compared to a fraction under 41-percent for SU.
The Tigers also finished with a 37-31 edge in total rebounds and a 10-1 advantage in blocked shots.
Ogden recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Pirates, who slipped to 7-11 overall and 4-3 in the SCAC.
Whitlock also finished with 15 points.
Colorado College returns home next week to open a four-game home stand. The Tigers play host to league-leading Texas Lutheran University at 6 p.m. Friday, and then Southwestern on Sunday at noon.
