Alex Davey and sophomore
Megan Koch led the Colorado College women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the CC Invitational in Monument Valley Park.
Davey was impressive in just her second collegiate meet, finishing 14
th among collegiate runners with a 6K time of 25:29.2. Koch followed in 17
th place in 25:33.7.

th) and
Emily Dwyer (22
nd) rounded out the scoring for Colorado College.

NCAA Division II powerhouse Adams State won the team title, followed by Metro State in second and CSU-Pueblo in third. Colorado College was the only Division III team at the race.

Alden Gruidel of Metro State was the individual champion, finishing the race in 22:46.3.

What Head Coach Ted Castaneda said:
"Alex was a very nice surprise today. For just being a freshman, she ran very well today. The women ran in packs well today and that certainly helped us as a team."
"We were shooting for a top five finish, so we are happy with the result. We also had several runners with a minute-plus improvement over last year's meet."
