GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Softball (4-19) rebounded on Saturday after a Friday afternoon walk-off loss to the Schreiner Mountaineers (2-18). The Pirates took game two of the series 3-1 and followed it up with a 5-4 win to conclude with their first conference series win of the season.
GAME 2
HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophia Ytuarte pitched a complete game against the Mountaineers, throwing four strikeouts and one earned run. She also gained two hits behind the plate.
- Emily Nevarez also notched two hits in four at-bats.
- Meghan McCarthy, Samantha Saenz, and Daniella Clark drove in runs for the Pirates.
GAME 3
HIGHLIGHTS
- Brooke Yanta hit a two-run shot to kick off scoring for the Pirates at the top of the second inning.
- Jaden Wheeler closed out the game with 3.1 innings pitched with four strikeouts and no runs scored.
- Saenz had two hits in four at-bats, driving in runs with each of her hits.
NOTES
- Jodi Glenn-Millhouse had one run scored and three hits between games two and three.
- The Pirates committed just one error in both games on Saturday.
- Southwestern had eighteen total hits against the Mountaineers on Saturday.

- The Pirates will travel to Houston, Texas, for their next conference series against the St. Thomas Celts. The first game is set for 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 28th.
