Willow Lott led the Colorado College women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the season-opening UCCS Rust Buster Meet in Monument Valley Park.
Singer paced the Tigers by finishing 27
th individually and covered the 5K course in a time of 19 minutes, 42.89 seconds. Lott followed in 29
th place with a time of 19:43.08 in her first collegiate race, while junior
Sydney Rankin finished 30
th by posting a time of 19:43.77.
Sophomore
Alison Mueller-Hickler placed 31st in 19:45.04, while senior
Kendall Accetta closed out the Tigers' scoring with a 32nd-place result with a time of 19:50.73.
"The goal today was to run comfortably and have fun doing it," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "It was great to see everyone working together in groups and developing as a team. Even though the efforts were controlled, it was exciting to see five runners under the time of our #2 runner from this meet last year. It's a good sign for things to come."
