Box Score Facing what amounted to a must-win situation, injury-ravaged Colorado College defeated Trinity University on its home court for just the second time in 10 tries since CC began competing in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference during the 2007-08 season.

Eric Houska scored 21 points and dished out eight assists to lead Colorado College to a 78-74 victory on Saturday afternoon at Calgaard Gymnasium.
Despite building a commanding 17-point lead on senior winger
Ryan Young's three-pointer 2:01 into the second half, CC needed a pair clutch free throws by Young with five seconds remaining to secure its first win in San Antonio since a 68-66 triumph on Jan. 6, 2013.
A three-pointer by sophomore guard
Eric Jonas gave Colorado College a 73-61 lead with 5:04 remaining in the game, but a 10-1 run pulled TU to within three points after sophomore guard Brooks Mays connected on his fourth three-pointer of the game with 1:10 still on the clock.
Sophomore forward
CooXooEii Black sank a pair of free throws with 36 seconds to go to extend CC's lead to 76-71, but senior forward Jayden Holden countered with two of his own to pull Trinity to within three.
TU had a chance to get to within a point, but senior guard Matt Jones missed the second of two free throws with seven seconds to play and Young grabbed the rebound and was fouled by Mays.
Black recorded his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. It also marked the fourth time this year he grabbed double-digit boards.
Senior guard
John Hatch scored 15 points for Colorado College before fouling out with 5:50 to play.
Junior guard
Edmund Pendleton went 4-for-7 from behind the arc and tied his career high with 14 points.
Jonas knocked down a pair of shots from behind the arc and scored a career-high eight points, while Young also finished with eight.
CC, which improved to 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the SCAC, tied its season high by hitting 14 three-pointers.
Holden recorded a team-high 15 points for Trinity, which slipped to 7-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Mays and junior guard Taylor Kim finished with 14 points apiece for TU.
Colorado College plays its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Johnson & Wales University.
