WOMEN'S SOCCER BLANKS CRUSADERS IN 4-0 WIN

Once again the Pirates scored in the opening minutes of the game and piled on the goals in the second half to defeat the University of Dallas 4-0. Southwestern improves to 5-1 on the season as they head into conference action on Sunday.

In just under three minutes into the contest Southwestern's Amy Douglas (pictured) scored, on the assist from Jillian Curran, to put the Pirates ahead and maintained their 1-0 lead into halftime.

With less than 18 minutes gone in the second half Lauren Kjolhede found A.J. Andreola who scored her sixth goal of the season in as many games and then scored her seventh in the 66th minute on an assist by Jennifer Huntsman.

Kjolhede added one more goal for good measure on a corner kick in the 69th minute and the rest of the Pirates cruised to the 4-0 victory.

Southwestern dominated all aspects of the game including taking six more shots (16-10) and having seven more corners on the afternoon. Kjolhede led in points with three and Sarah Nonaka recorded five saves in 73 minutes while Kat Daniel came off the bench for two saves in 17 minutes.

The Pirates will take their 5-1 record on the road to open up conference action at Austin College on Sunday starting at 2:00 pm.
