Tigers Keep Pace With 20th-Ranked Trinity

Senior Kate Brush and freshman Alexis Lee each posted an individual victory on Friday, but the Colorado College women's swimming and diving team fell to 20th-ranked Trinity University, 167-76, in San Antonio.

Brush, a 2022 Division III All-American in the 200 butterfly, won the 100 butterfly race on Friday with a time of 57.93 seconds. Lee, meanwhile, captured the 100 backstroke, touching the wall first in 1:01.38. Brush and Lee joined freshman Malia Hewitt and Megan Simonson to finish second in the meet-opening 200 medley relay race with a time of 1:50.12.

Brush (200 freestyle) joined a group of Simonson (50 freestyle), Hewitt (200 IM) and senior Emma Phillips (500 freestyle) to finish second in her respective race.

In diving, sophomore Emma Krasemann posted an NCAA regional qualifying score of 437.05 on the 1-meter board, good for fourth place. She also finished third in the 3-meter with a score of 243.50.

"This was a meet full of very good and close races. We were in them all against a very good team," head coach Anne Goodman James said. "It was thrilling to see our 200 medley relay team as fast as we were at SCACs last year. We raced well, and now need to get ready to step it up a notch against Southwestern tomorrow."

The Tigers head to Georgetown, Texas for a dual meet against Southwestern University on Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 11 a.m. (MT).
