The Colorado College women's swimming and diving team captured an impressive 155-79 victory over Division II CSU-Pueblo Saturday afternoon in Pueblo. Western Colorado University was scheduled to compete in the double-dual meet, but could not make it to Pueblo due to road conditions.
 
The Tigers claimed five first-place results, including a pair by Gina Lynch. She won the 100 freestyle race with a time of 55.75 seconds, then anchored the meet-closing 200 freestyle relay, joining Megan Simonson, Adeline Turner and Sarah Buchman. The quartet finished the race in 1:40.83.
 
Emma Phillips opened the individual races by winning the 1,000 freestyle in 11:32.43, while Alyssa Tuggal won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.19, Alexis Lee the 100 backstroke in 1:00.91 and Isabella Cole the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.20.
 
In diving, Emma Krasemann, Keller Pooley and Suzanne Applegate swept the 1-meter event on Saturday.
 
"We were a bit flat in the first few events, and CSU-Pueblo started off very well," head coach Anne Goodman James said. "The score was very tight at that point. After the first break we got our intensity up and won the next three races in a row, and then three of the last four. I was pleased to see that we could make that change in middle of the meet, and make such a comeback.
 
The Tigers are back in action on Friday, Jan 19, for the first day of the three-day Colorado College Classic at Schlessman Natatorium.
