SEGUIN, Tex. – Cal Lutheran got the perfect start to their trip to Texas as they swept Texas Lutheran 5-0 in their first match.

The Kingsmen (4-2, 0-1 SCIAC) only lost more than three games in a set one time Friday morning, showing their dominance in both the singles and doubles competition.

In number-one doubles, Jake Haffner and Darvel Lossangoye comfortably took their match 8-1 to open the competition.

The duo of Ryan Murphy and Ben Vincze were next and faced some stiff competition, but came away with an 8-5 victory.

Wrapping up the doubles side were Erik Lundeberg and Sebastian Ariza, who cruised to an 8-1 win.

Moving over to singles, Haffner occupied the top spot and won his match 6-0, 4-1 after his opponent withdrew.

Lossangoye capped his undefeated day with a 6-2, 6-0 win in number-two singles and Ariza followed with a 6-2, 3-1 victory after another unfinished match would take place.

Vincze also had a fantastic day on the court as he took his singles match 6-0, 4-3. Lundeberg won his match 6-1, 6-1 for a convincing win and Murphy finished the day with a 6-3 first-set victory before his match was cut short at 1-1 in the second set.

The Kingsmen hope to keep their momentum alive in Texas as they return to competition Feb. 22 for a pair of matches with Trinity (Tex.) and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
