Pirates Fall Just Short of ITA Regional Championship Match

GEORGETOWN, Texas — The Southwestern University Pirates men's tennis ITA Regional Championship goals were stopped just short of the final, losing in the A draw singles and doubles semifinals. 

Senior Alexis Dimanche served for first set at 5-3 and broken to go on and lose 7-5, dropping the match to Trinity University's Cameron Krimbill (7-5, 6-1). The doubles semifinals between Southwestern's Hunter Bajoi and Hemanshu Rambojun played out in similar fashion. 

The Pirates served for the first set at 5-3 but surrendered the lead, dropping the set 7-5, then lost the second set 6-4 to McMurry's Carlos Martinez and Chase Daniell. 

Southwestern's official season begins Feb. 1 against St. Thomas at 3:00 p.m. The Pirates will have an exhibition with NCAA Division III St. Edward's University prior to that on Friday, Jan. 31.
