Men's Lacrosse Drops Spring Break Contest to Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Curry College men's lacrosse team dropped a 10-7 decision to Southwestern Wednesday evening in non-conference at Varsity Field.

With the defeat, Curry moves to .500 overall on the season at 3-3.

Southwestern did the majority of its damage in the first quarter, outscoring the visitors 6-2 in the opening quarter. Curry got goals in the period from freshmen Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) and Tim Sullivan (East Walpole, Mass.).

Both teams scored a goal apiece in the second and third quarters, with Curry goals from sophomore Tom Daigle (The Woodlands, Texas) and Sullivan.

Sullivan scored two more in the fourth quarter, with Sam Nielsen (Fairfield, Conn.) adding his first of the day, but Curry's comeback bid fell short as the Pirates sealed the victory.

In net, sophomore Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) played one quarter of action, making three saves and getting charged with the loss. Senior Bobby Cannan (Bernardsville, N.J.) came on in relief and made eight saves on 12 shots on goal in 45 minutes of action.

Next up, Curry will return to the East Coast and play Western Connecticut State University on the road on Sunday. Faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
