Women's Soccer Rout Owls in Biggest Win Since 2016

COLUMBUS, Miss. - The Crusaders played in a non-conference tune-up against the Mississippi University for Women this afternoon, routing the Owls 9-0 in the programs biggest win since 2016.

It was all UD from start to finish, with Claire Reed putting the Crusaders up 2-0 in less than seven minutes.  Avery Seaman made it 3-0 not long after with her third goal in the last two games.  That wouyld be all of the scoring in the first half, but the Crusaders were far from done.

Just three minutes into the second half, Britney Zapata scored two and Alyssa Mencacci added another to make it 5-0 UD.  Monico O'Donnell would grab a pair of goals before the game was out, and Rachel Rodriguez put the finishing touches on the game with her first goal of the season in the 84th minute.  When all was said and done, six different Crusaders found the back of the net, with Reed, Zapata, and O'Donnell each netting twice.  Reed would also notch two assists for six points on the day.

The 9-0 win was the biggest of the season for the Crusaders, and their biggest win since defeating Southewestern Adventist 9-0 in October of 2016.  The single game record for goals scored in a single game is 13, set on October 19, 2002 vs Stephens.
