DANVILLE, Ky. – LaGrange College ended its season with a 48-7 loss to Centre College on Saturday. The Panthers finished the season 3-7, while the Colonels improved to 6-4.
Centre forced five turnovers by the Panthers. The Colonels turned the turnovers into 17 points and also returned a punt for a touchdown.
Centre led 31-0 at halftime. The Colonels scored on five of their seven possessions in the half, including their last three for touchdowns to break the game open.
Quarterback Tyler Osterman threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns for Centre. The Colonels had 326 yards of total offense in the game.
The Panthers avoided the shutout in the third quarter with a 13-play 80-yard drive. The Panthers converted two fourth down plays to keep the drive going.
Andrecus Lindley ran nine yards to convert the fourth down play from the LaGrange 39. Quarterback Drew Carter hit Stevie Harrison for a 19-yard gain on fourth and seven to the Centre 33.
Carter would come back to Harrison for another 19-yard gain to the Centre 11. Two plays later, Carter went the final five yards to Harrison for the touchdown.
Carter, one of 13 seniors playing their final game, finished the game 18-of-31 for 146 yards and the touchdown. Lindley had 62 yards rushing in his final game.
Harrison and senior Stephen Tuck each had five receptions for the Panthers. Tim Hill led the Panther defense with six tackles, including one for a loss.
