GEORGETOWN, TEXAS—Southwestern Baseball (20-14, 10-6) completed the series sweep against the Austin College 'Roos (8-24, 1-14) late Friday night. Due to inclement weather inbound on Saturday, the Pirates played a double-header starting at 6:00 PM in Sherman, Texas. In game number two, Southwestern beat the 'Roos by a seven-run margin, 10-3. The final game of the series would prove to be the closest, as it would take ten innings for the Pirates to finally down the 'Roos, 4-1.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Owen Stevenson led all Pirates on the day with three RBIs off one home run.
- Maxwell Mims went for two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, with a home run.
- Carson Brown and Ryan Corbett combined for fourteen strikeouts, with six from brown (5.1 IP) and eight from Corbett (3.2 IP).
GAME THREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Andrew Hardin led all Pirate pitchers on the day with nine strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched. Hardin went on to record a win in his stat column.
- Starting pitcher Stephen Rutherford went 5.1 innings, throwing seven strikeouts and allowing just one earned run.
- Maxwell Mims's two stolen bases in the final game tied him for the most career stolen bases in Pirate history (79).
