GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- Women's Basketball traveled to Brownwood, TX for their second game versus Howard Payne this preseason.
The 4-0 Lady Jackets jumped out to an early lead against the Pirates in the first quarter. The Pirates struggled with turnovers and missed shots in the first half, but luckily some sharp shooting from the free throw line kept them in it. Howard Payne was able to hold off the Pirate's late game push and won, 61-55.
Southwestern was led by a double-double from Lauren Stevens who recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ellie Ward finished with 13 points as well.
The Pirates finished the game shooting 20-24 for free throws.
