The Rhodes College baseball team defeated Hendrix College this evening 8-7 in Conway, AR. Rhodes jumped out to an early 3-1 lead after the first, before Hendrix tied the game at four a piece in the fourth. The Lynx put up three, as Hendrix responded with a single run in the sixth. Hendrix tied the game at 7-7 with two runs in the bottom of the eighth. Rhodes took the lead for good with a single run in the top of the ninth. Senior RHP
Brian Lainoff collected his third save of the season working a perfect ninth inning.
Junior RHP
James Todd made his second start of the season this evening as he worked five innings, allowing five hits, three earned runs, walked one, and struck out five. Sophomore LHP
Max Halasz entered the game in the bottom of the sixth and worked 1/3 of an innings before handing the ball over to junior RHP
Stuart Voges. Voges worked the next 1.2 innings allowing one hit, no runs, walked one, and struck out two. Senior RHP
Remick Smothers recorded one out in the bottom of the eighth before being relieved by junior RHP
Matt Burnick. Burnick finished off the eighth for the Lynx, as he would earn his fourth victory of the season. Senior RHP

The Lynx offense was led by senior CF
Travis Perkins who was 2-4 on the day with two runs scored, walked once, got hit by a pitch, and stole three bases. Junior 1B Matt Killary was 2-2 with two runs scored, walked twice, got hit by a pitch, and stole two bases. Junior SS
Lynden Pindling was 2-5 with a double, two runs scored, three RBIs, and stole two bases. Junior C
Matt Shaw was 1-1 with a run scored, walked once, and stole a base.
With the victory, the Lynx improved to 20-12 (5-4 SCAC) on the year. Rhodes will return to action this weekend against Millsaps College in Jackson, MS.
