The Rhodes College Baseball defeated North Carolina Wesleyan 6-5 at Stauffer Field this afternoon on with a 2 out, 2 RBI walk-off double by sophomore 3B Lynden Pindling.  The Lynx overcame a 2 run deficit in the bottom of the ninth to earn their 4th victory of the season.  The Bishops jumped out to an early 2-0 before Rhodes tied it at 2 in the bottom of the second.  North Carolina Wesleyan took the lead again in the third before the Lynx tied it at 3 in the bottom of the 5th.  The Bishops then put a single run up in the sixth and ninth to set up the dramatic come from behind victory.

Senior right hander Andy Meier made his first start of the season working the first 4 innings, allowing 8 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 5.  Sophomore Jackson Baker work the next for innings allowing 4 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk, and struck out 4.  Senior Taylor Babich picked up the win for the Lynx by throwing the top of the ninth and allowing 1 hit, 1 unearned run, 1 walk, and struck out 2.

The Lynx offense was led by senior RF Matt Gilbert who was 2-4 on the day with a walk, run scored, and stole 2 bases.  Senior SS Kyle Peterson was 1-3 on the day.  Pindling's only hit of the day was the walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth.  Pindling ended the day with 2 RBIs.

Rhodes will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they will take on North Carolina Wesleyan in the second game of the mid-week series.  First pitch is scheduled for 2:00.
