Women's Tennis Falls to Southwestern

Women's Tennis Falls to Southwestern

The Women's Tennis team dropped their contest against Southwestern University 9-0 Saturday afternoon in Georgetown, Texas.

It was a nasty day in Central Texas as the Celts challenged the Pirates from Southwestern. Alejandra Lopez and Anamaria Gonzalez dropped a heartbreaker in line one of doubles, 7-8. Gonzalez continued applying pressure in singles as she took Esther Bouers to three sets.  Despite her tremendous outing, the Pirates were able to escape with a victory in line one.

The rest of the Celts competed and gave a solid Southwestern team their best efforts.

"There were windy conditions today for both teams but we still have to find ways to win" Head Coach Jack Brasington said. "Fitness and on the road factors contributed to the loss. It's been a tough start to our season but that's when it's most important to dig deep and learn from our mistakes.  We look forward to 2 matches next weekend against LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist"
