Tigers Overpower Berry College, 18-4

Two games into the 2020 season, an extremely positive trend has developed for the Colorado College men's lacrosse team.

After playing well during the first half, the Tigers have been absolutely dominant at both ends of the field during the final 30 minutes.

On Sunday at Berry College, CC struck for 11 consecutive goals to open the second half and rolled to an impressive 18-4 victory over the Vikings.

It marked the first time the Tigers opened the season with a pair of road wins since 2017 when Colorado College defeated Transylvania University, 9-5, and Wittenberg University (12-10) in Nashville, Tenn.

Max Rieser factored in five goals, scoring three and setting up two others, while Coby Petau and Elliot Nelson both finished with three tallies and an assist.

After watching Berry trim its deficit to 6-3 with a pair of unassisted tallies during the final five minutes of the second quarter, Hansen ignited an 11-0 explosion with a pair of goals during the opening 5:07 of second half.

Through two games, Colorado College has outscored its opponents 23-2 during the second half.

Coach's Comments
"Being 2-0 with a pair of solid road wins is a great way to start the season," head coach Sean Woods said. "Our defense played with great urgency this weekend and our goalie play was superb. Our offense has been really balanced with lots of players in the box score. Once again, Winston Chodnicki and our wing play was dominant on face-offs. Now it's time to defend Washburn field."

Colorado College Standouts
Winston Chodnicki won 14 of 20 faceoffs and scooped up a game-high eight ground balls.
John Lawrence produced five ground balls and a caused turnover.
