Big Cats Open Season With Big Win Over Southwestern

The Colorado College women's swimming and diving team opened its 2017-18 campaign Friday with a dominating 172-62 victory over SCAC-foe Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
 
CC won 10 of the 13 events against the Pirates. Three Tigers, Jio Chang (200 IM, 200 butterfly), Justina Zuckerman (50 and 100 freestyle) and Riley Wadehra (1 and 3-meter diving) each won a pair of events. Chang and Zuckerman joined Sarah Dunbar and Emily Erickson to win the 400 medley relay.
 
Dunbar won the 200 backstroke, while Emily Harrison captured the 1,000 freestyle and Selma Jukic finished first in the 200 freestyle.
 
"Our focus today was to set the standard for the season," head coach Anne Goodman James said. "I am so proud of this team for showing their excellence today. I was extremely impressed with how we stepped up to race in every situation."
